What is This Writing Test Anyway?

Introduction:

We all know that the North Carolina State Writing Assessment is coming up next Tuesday, March 8th.  Since that's so soon, we want to take a closer look at the test, to try and find out exactly what we're up against.  Your job is to explore the DPI (Department of Public Instruction) website, or the organization who makes to tests, to look at previous prompts, rubrics, and other important information.  As you follow each step in this webquest by reading through each page, please make sure you have your daybook out for any additional notes you might want to take.
Ultimately, you will need to make a study guide that outlines everything students need to remember when taking the writing test.  You may make a keynote presentation, a pages word document, or use some other kind of approved program to make your study guide.  First, however, you will need to answer some research questions provided on the "Task" page.  Be sure to include the answers to these either in your study guide or in a seperate word document.  We will be working on this project for the next couple of days, but you will be assessed, and receive a grade by the end.  For more information, check out the evaluation page.  Have fun!
